Software Development Examples

These are loosely organized from large-scale to small:

CCM I/ACAS : Inpatient/Ambulatory Care Analysis Systems.

This development project involved re-designing and re-programming all of CCM's software products.  CCM's income was primarily from the sale of this software to insurance companies.  The software allowed users to explore patient data to look for patterns of abuse, double charging, etc.   It can be thought of as two different products available across three different environments but was originally developed as six separate products.

On this project, I managed two groups - a development team ( five people ) and a marketing / design team (three people).  I created a new architecture for the products, implemented standards, redesigned the products and was lead programmer.  Our first release was a complete re-write of the original products with some significant enhancements.  Our second release involved a completely new user interface.  I also helped manage the early stages of porting the product to Windows.  CCM's products competed well with those of a much larger, better funded organization.

How did you become in charge?  Why did you re-design from scratch?

What made your architecture critical to CCM's success?

Describe some of the key features - what modules required your expertise?

How were you able to compete?

Why did you leave CCM?
